Aged Cows Top the International Guernsey Show

MADISON, WIS. – The one-two pair of winning Six-Year-Old & Older Guernsey cows captured Grand and Reserve Grand Champion honors at this year’s International Guernsey Show on Tuesday, October 4 at World Dairy Expo®. Flambeau Manor Ro Lauren-ET, owned by Gary Van Doorn of Tony, Wis. and Knapps Regis Tambourine-ET owned by Austin & Landen Knapp of Epworth, Iowa were named the winning pair by judges Brian Behnke, Albany, Wis. and Jason Danhof, Waukon, Iowa. The pair evaluated 208 entries before selecting their champions.

Each cow garnered additional awards as well. Lauren received the Udder Comfort $1,000 Grand Champion Cash Award, was selected Best Udder of the Show and was awarded a special Allen Hetts Award, crafted after the large trophies of days past. Tambourine earned the Nasco International Type & Production Award and several honors in the International Guernsey Junior Show, including being named Grand Champion of the Junior Show.

Over the course of the day, 136 heifers and 72 cows were evaluated. The top two animals in each class are as follows:

Spring Heifer Calf:
