“Communicating Agriculture to an Increasingly Urban Audience”
Ann O’Leary, 69th Alice in Dairyland
As the average consumer continues to be further removed from the farm, the need to share the story of Wisconsin agriculture increases. From social media to casual small talk, there are many ways to connect with consumers. Attending this session is a sure way to pick up some tips and tricks on agvocating. O’Leary is serving the 69th Alice in Dairyland. She grew up in Evansville, showing Jerseys and Holsteins while heavily involved in the Rock County Jr. Holstein Association and the Rock County 4-H Program and served as the 2009 Rock County 4-H Fair Queen. O’Leary studied Biology and Neuroscience at Carthage College and graduated with All College Honors in May, 2014.

“Find the Key to AG-vocacy”

If communication is key, what is the key to communication? Come explore agricultural issues and find a key to unlocking the method for effective AGvocating. We will learn how to address any ag issue we may face using key messages and value-based conversations. Brenna Bay of Adams-Friendship FFA is serving as the 2016-17 Wisconsin State FFA President. Wisconsin State Reporter Hannah Taylor is from Poynette FFA and Laura Munger, Secretary, hails from Holmen FFA.

“Crops, Cows, Current and Cheese”
Beth Crave, Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese
Beth Crave will take you on a journey from field to factory on the Crave Brothers Farm and Crave Brothers Farmstead story. Along the way, you get to sample award winning cheeses, along with other Wisconsin favorites. Crave grow up on a small dairy farm in Reeseville, Wis. She was very active in 4-H and FFA during her youth. She has a degree in Culinary Arts and Hotel Restaurant Management. Beth and her husband, along with their two children reside in Waterloo, Wisconsin where is works at Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese as the Customer Service Manager. She enjoys all facets of the cheese and dairy industry and learns something new each day. During her off time, she enjoys entering cooking contest, catering, spending time with her family and being involved with their local FFA Alumni chapter.
Take a Quiz, Win Ice Cream
The U.S Dairy Forage Research Center is sponsoring a quiz about the dairy industry and forages in the Arena Building by the World Forage Analysis Superbowl. Students can take the five-question quiz from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a chance to win a free ice cream from the GEA Ice Cream Booth sponsored by Mycogen Seeds. Supplies are limited. Students will also have the opportunity to check out award winning forage smaples and ask questions of the experts.

Lely Interns Speak About Experience at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.
Interested in a career in dairy? Lely, a global leader in automated dairy solutions, offers many different career options. Learn what could be your future from two Lely interns. Join us on Tuesday, October 4 at 11 am & 2 pm in the Lely tent, just outside the Arena Building to learn more. Hear from Stephanie Heindl, a student at University of Wisconsin who spent a summer working with Lely's Farm Management Support team and Alleck Olerud, who spent a summer working with Lely's sales team and is now working full-time with a Lely Center in Wisconsin. They will share their experiences and answer your questions.
"Milker Experience" Competition
