Dear Friends of World Dairy Expo,

As our nation pulls together, we express our sympathy to those who have experienced tragic losses during these last few weeks. Several World Dairy Expo friends from around the world have shared their concern and support.

During these uncertain times, World Dairy Expo can continue to be an opportunity to come together as an industry, see old friends and make new ones, and continue global commerce while demonstrating international cooperation.

World Dairy Expo wants to reassure you that security of attendees and cattle is a top priority. Great effort has been taken to insure that every practical measure is being implemented.

First, all measures of a new biosecurity plan unveiled earlier this year, will be in place. The plan includes such items as: screening all attendees to eliminate the risk of accidental disease contamination; confirming cattle exhibitors, their helpers and their equipment have not been in a Foot and Mouth Disease infected country in the last five days; and sanitation stations located around the barns and on the grounds. In addition, the presence of state and federal veterinarians will be increased beginning on the Friday before the show opens.

Second, World Dairy Expo will be more than doubling the number of Dane County Sheriffs that will be on grounds. Their increased presence will be visible at each gate, the showring, the barns, and the commercial exhibit areas. There will be increased security at the show 24 hours per day.

The World Dairy Expo biosecurity plan, schedule of events, commercial exhibitor lists and other current information can be found at www.worlddairyexpo.com. If you have questions or concerns, please call us at 608-224-6455 or email at wde@wdexpo.com.

We look forward to seeing you at the show.

Sincerely,

Tom McKittrick
General Manager
